Acadia Kandora

Acadia Kandora was born in New Jersey but didn’t grow up there. Instead she moved nine times during her childhood. That continuing “change of place” instilled in her an experimental drive to continue to create art that pushes traditional processes. Her path through art has been filled with twists and turns, taking her from design to sculpture to printmaking.

As a graduate student at Shepherd University, Acadia has distilled the three mediums into one stunning process. Learn more about Acadia at https://acadiakandora.com

Andrea Siles Loayza

Andrea Siles Loayza loves the ocean and the sharks who inhabit it. For her living near the ocean (or on it) would be her ideal home. Andrea’s paintings are known for their line work and wonderful flowing curves.

As a high school senior she was chosen to represent West Virginia in the 6th annual Doodle for Google Competition with her creative interpretation of her observations of undersea life. Torn between a desire to be a marine biologist or an artist, Andrea simply combined the two passions through art. In 2017, Andrea graduated with a degree in art from Shepherd University. She is now planning to pursue an Master’s in illustration.

Ginger Danz

Art was not presented as an actual option for making a living, said Ginger Danz.Originally from Indiana, Ginger moved to Boise ID after graduate school where she met her husband. In 1998 they moved to Charleston WV.

She worked as a professional counselor for about 18 years. During this time she created art as an escape but also incorporated it into her counseling work with adolescents. In 2010, her creative energy and drive won out and she decided to become a full time artist. We are happy that she did. Learn more about Ginger at Ginger Danz Fine Art (https://gingerdanz.com)

Kim Potter

We met Kim about four years ago during a studio tour of Berkeley Springs artists. Marla really liked his coats and jackets. A couple of years later we asked him about having us produce a short about him for ArtVoiceWV. He politely declined, a combination of modesty and nervousness. This past Spring, we took up the studio tour again and met up with Kim. He blurted out that he thought he was ready for us to profile him.

Surprised and happy we set up time to visit his studio with our cameras. Though he was still nervous about the interview, we all had an enjoyable time. Learn more about Kim at http://www.kimpotter.com/
