Andrea Siles Loayza

Andrea Siles Loayza loves the ocean and the sharks who inhabit it. For her living near the ocean (or on it) would be her ideal home. Andrea’s paintings are known for their line work and wonderful flowing curves.

As a high school senior she was chosen to represent West Virginia in the 6th annual Doodle for Google Competition with her creative interpretation of her observations of undersea life. Torn between a desire to be a marine biologist or an artist, Andrea simply combined the two passions through art. In 2017, Andrea graduated with a degree in art from Shepherd University. She is now planning to pursue an Master’s in illustration.

Rosalie Haizlett Update

Since we filmed, Rosalie contacted us to let know that she recently accepted a full time job with the WV Food and Farm Coalition as their Communications Producer! “I will combine design, illustration, photography and social media to tell the stories of the farmers of West Virginia. I wanted to let you know that in my interview they specifically mentioned how impressed they were by the video that you created.”

Congratulation Rosalie!

ArtVoiceWV: seth.

seth. moved to Thomas WV on the advice of a friend. It turned out to be an excellent suggestion because seth. discovered his inner artist. What began as doodles on slips of paper blossomed into a rewarding career as an artist who captures his audience with a combination of profound perceptions and somewhat silly characters.

But as with many artists, seth. continued to explore form and function. This led him to a form of encaustic “painting” using melted crayons. With three friends, he opened The White Room Art Gallery in Thomas, WV. Learn more about seth. here – http://www.theartofseth.com.
