When Leona was 24 and the mother of two children, she decided to go to college. She majored in Arts Education at Marshall. After graduation she went to graduate school and began teaching at Huntington High for 25 years. After she retired she decided to pursue her art, exploring many mediums, from ceramics to glass to painting and more.
She has recently been  accepted to the following juried exhibits:  Allied Artist Of WV,  on display at Parkersburg Museum, Best of WV at Tamarack, and the Bi-Annual Exhibit at the Huntington Museum of Art. Learn more at http://tamarackfoundation.org/directory-listing/leona-mackey/.
