Telly Has Arrived

Our Telly Award for ArtVoiceWV episode, “Holding the Vision” arrived today. It joins its other award fellows in our trophy area.

ArtVoiceWV: Sycamore Pottery

Pam and Ren Parziale launched Sycamore Pottery in 1971 where they bought land, planted 4,000 trees, raised two children and grew a pottery business from what Pam calls – a fantasy. Their first commission was for a Shepherdstown historical group that wanted 500 hand-thrown pots for a fundraiser. That then led to work with the National Park Service and from their pottery grew and won awards. Every pot and plate is made the old fashioned way on the potter’s wheel. In 2005, Gov. Joe Manchin awarded Pam with the Distinguished Arts Award at the Governor’s Arts Awards ceremony for her service as an artist, administrator and advocate of the arts.
